In a daylight robbery on August 17, wildlife photographer Mukul Mukherjee was accosted and robbed of cash and valuables worth ₹1.8 lakh on Baner Hill, Pune. The stolen items included a camera, mobile phone, bracelet, and cash. Acting swiftly, the Chatushrungi Police arrested two suspects, Akshay Vitthal Suryavanshi (23) and Vishal Mahadev Gaikwad (21), recovering items worth ₹1.4 lakh. The incident has raised safety concerns among local residents and nature enthusiasts who frequent Baner Hill, prompting renewed calls for CCTV surveillance and enhanced patrolling in the area.
