Our Journey

Whispering Wilds emerged from Exploring Nature, a Facebook community founded by Mukul Mukherjee on World Photography Day, 19th August 2021. What began as a humble space for sharing photographs soon evolved into the Global Exploring Nature Conservancy Foundation (GENCF) - a thriving community of nature enthusiasts united by their passion for the wild.

In its early journey, a major setback occurred on Baner Hill, Pune, when Mukul’s equipment was stolen. The swift response and unwavering support of the Chaturshringi Police team in Pune, Maharashtra, turned what could have been a moment of loss into one of renewed faith and resilience. Deeply moved by the professionalism and dedication of the Chaturshringi Police Station, the Maharashtra State Police, and the Crime Branch, Mukul expressed his gratitude by pledging to honour and acknowledge their efforts through the magazine.

From photography initiatives like Photo of the Day and the Annual Awards to impactful conservation storytelling, the platform steadily expanded its vision. After a year of thoughtful planning, Whispering Wilds was launched on 26th January 2023, blessed by conservation leaders and supported by global partners - marking the dawn of a new era in nature communication.

We are happy to announce the launch of the very first issue of our E-Magazine, "Whispering Wilds" on the occasion of Republic Day, 26th January 2023 @ 7PM. The day was auspicious and sacred also because of Sarasvati Puja being celebrated on the same day.
