Mountaineer and amateur bird photographer

Samrat is an MBA graduate & works as an IT Professional. Hailing from the eastern part of India, now settled in Delhi NCR, he had completed his Basic Mountaineering (BMC, Darjeeling) & Advance Mountaineering Course (AMC) from Himalayan Institute of Mountaineering & DMAS (now ABMAS, Manali) before he turned 20!

Having been exposed to hiking in the Himalayas from an early age, his love for mountains only increased with each passing day. He has summited Frey Peak (6010 mt, Sikkim), Friendship Peak (5287 mt, Manali), Seven sisters (4724 mt, Manali), Stok Kangri (6153 mt, Ladak), Kang Yatse II (6200 mt, Ladak) and Everest Base Camp (5364 mt, in Khumbhu region). He has participated in multiple expeditions with YHAI & Bikat Adventures in the Indian Himalayas. He is an active volunteer in Indian Mountaineering Foundation (IMF), South Delhi.

He is also a wildlife enthusiast, with a particular interest in Himalayan bird photography.

Samrat aims to keep venturing into the wilderness to discover & re-discover his interest in mountains & colourful Himalayan birds.
