Wildlife Journalist
Turn Stories Into Conservation Action
At GENC Foundation, we believe stories have the power to inspire change.
We are looking for a passionate Wildlife Journalist who can bridge the gap between wildlife, conservation, science, and society through compelling storytelling. This is a full-time opportunity for a highly motivated individual who wants to build a career in wildlife journalism while contributing to meaningful conservation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Journalism & Storytelling
- Research and write wildlife, conservation, and environmental stories.
- Conduct interviews with scientists, conservationists, photographers, forest officials, and subject experts.
- Develop feature articles, blogs, field reports, and opinion pieces.
- Cover conservation events, webinars, workshops, and symposiums.
- Digital Media & Community Engagement
- Create educational reels, videos, and social media content.
- Manage and grow online communities across digital platforms.
- Coordinate with contributors, writers, photographers, and volunteers.
- Engage audiences through meaningful conservation conversations.
Editorial & Outreach
- Assist in planning magazine editions and editorial calendars.
- Build relationships with NGOs, researchers, institutions, and conservation organizations.
- Identify potential partners, sponsors, and collaborators.
- Represent GENCF during events and outreach programs.
Desired Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong storytelling and interviewing abilities.
- Passion for wildlife, biodiversity, and conservation.
- Social media and digital outreach experience.
- Basic photography, videography, or content creation skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Creative thinking and willingness to learn.
Added Advantage
- Wildlife photography experience.
- Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Canva, or similar tools.
- Experience in blogging, journalism, or content writing.
- Familiarity with wildlife and environmental issues.
